Events States - Tamil Nadu ‘Timing a decision is vital for success’ Our Correspondent Madurai, April 7 Timing a decision is vital to succeed under challenging circumstances, Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, Chairman, National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom), has said. With increasing connectivity, the real world is becoming far more competitive and the future is turning grey with ambiguities and uncertainties. Working under challenging circumstances, the future managers will need to weigh multiple options and time a decision to succeed, he said while addressing the 22nd convocation of Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), here. Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, also the Vice-Chairman, Cognizant, sharing an experience said that his company after weighing many possibilities, has chosen a firm in Germany to expand the business in Europe. Speaking further, he said the technology is becoming so customer-centric, that organisational success would depend on understanding the human behaviour in the future. Already, Apple and Google are at work, he mentioned. To the graduating students, he said “do not make choices immediately; gain experience and work hard to succeed”. He presented degrees to 20 MCA graduates and 57 MBA graduates. In his address earlier, Mr Manikam Ramaswami, Chairman, Board of Governors, TSM, said that Indian economy has been doing well despite problems and could take comfort in its inflationary rate being low, compared to situations obtaining in other countries.
