United Bank biz crosses Rs 75,000 cr

Kolkata, April 7

United Bank of India’s business grew 26 per cent during 2007-08 and crossed Rs 75,000 crore as on March 2008, says a bank press release. The business grew from Rs 37,200 crore in March 2005 to Rs 75,300 crore in March 2008. Deposits grew by 86.2 per cent at Rs 47,200 crore from Rs 25,350 crore, while advances went up by 137.1 per cent to Rs 28,100 crore from Rs 11,850 crore during the three-year period. The bank’s deposits increased 27 per cent and advances by 24 per cent during 2007-08. The bank plans to touch Rs 1-lakh-crore business by March 2009, the release said.
