Coimbatore, April 8 Members of Tamilnadu Toddy Movement, a voluntary body in support of removal of ban on tapping toddy in the State, have planned to step up pressure on the government to withdraw the ban order.

A state-level meeting has decided to stage a four-phase agitation seeking lifting of the ban which, according to Mr S. Nallasamy, coordinator of the movement, would improve the economic well-being of the State’s 10 lakh palm growers and at the same time benefit consumers who can gain nutritional values out of toddy.
