GB Engineering in innovation mode

The company now concentrates on sustained improvement, product diversification and process development.

B. Pattabhiraman, Managing Director

GB Engineering Enterprises Pvt Ltd, located in Tiruchi, is a major boiler manufacturing company in the country. It began manufacturing steam generating equipment in the Eighties and had supplied 10,000 tonnes of boilers and associated equipment in 20 06-07.

The company last year expanded its capacity to produce 15,000 tonnes. With manufacturing units in four locations and with large number of outsourcing units around GB, the capacity can be considerably increased on demand, says B. Pattabhiraman, Managing Director of the company.

According to him, GB now focuses all its resources on innovation, continual improvement, product diversification and process development. It is also in the process of upgrading its capacity and technology to execute orders for pressure parts components of super-critical nature in the near future.

The company has registered growth of 25 per cent year-on-year and last fiscal, it registered a turnover of Rs 120 crore. “We are now focussing on EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) in the power sector and hope to clock at least Rs 500-crore revenue from this business alone,” he said. Currently, EPC in the power sector alone is a Rs 20,000-crore market.
