Welcoming spring: Traditional Assamese “Pepa” (flute) on display for sale on the occasion of the “Rongali Bihu” festival in Guwahati on Wednesday. “Pepas” are made out of buffalo horn and are used during the Bihu dance. These flutes command high price during “Rongali Bihu”, celebrated in the first month of the Assamese calendar. The festival also coincides with the advent of the spring season in the State. —
