‘Good oral, written communication will enhance confidence’

Tiruchi, April 10 Besides subject expertise, good oral and written communication enhances confidence of students to rise up in career, according to Mr P. Vasudevan, General Manager – HR, Tamil Nadu Papers Ltd, Karur.

At the time of interview, proper dressing, alertness of mind, a prior knowledge of the company and smart replies determine success, he said, addressing the inaugural of the Business Line Club of the Department of Management Studies at J.J. College of Engineering and Technology.

Advocating daily reading of newspapers, he said students must be familiar with labour laws and judgements of Supreme Court judgements on corporate matters.

Mr Vasudevan also dwelt on fostering the spirit of discussions to make the work environment healthy.

He explained the value system of TNPL and detailed the corporate social responsibility activities. He referred to quotes from Peter Drucker’s management principles and Ramayana while speaking on man management.

About 200 students participated in the event organised by the Beacon Association of the Department of Management Studies.

The Principal Mr E. Ramasamy presided.

The Executive Director of the institution, Mr P.S. Vigneswaran, Director of MBA programme, Mr K. Abdullah Basha, and the Regional General Manager of The Hindu, Tiruchi, Mr R. Srinivasan, offered felicitations.
