New Delhi, April 10 The National Council of Applied Economic Research has a new President in Mr Nandan Nilekani, who is at present Co-Chairman of Infosys Technologies Ltd. Mr Nilekani will take over from Dr Bimal Jalan on April 15, according to a release issued by NCAER.

Dr Jalan had held the position of NCAER President since 1998. Mr Nilekani will be the eighth President of NCAER, which recently celebrated its Golden jubilee. He was one of the founders of Infosys Technologies, one of the firms that put India in the forefront of IT revolution.
