Nod for pact with Mexico, Chile

New Delhi, April 11

The Union Cabinet on Friday approved the singing of two air services agreements that will allow airlines from India to fly to Mexico and Chile and also allow airlines from these two countries to fly here. Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting, the Minister for Science and Technology, Mr Kapil Sibal said that now not only India but also Chile and Mexico would be able to grant designated carrier status to multiple airlines. The airlines will also be allowed to enter into cooperative marketing arrangements like code-sharing and any other commercial arrangement to operate and market the airlines in the two nations besides any third one. - Our Bureau
