Airlines Marketing - New Products & Services Cathay Pacific to launch flights to Chennai in June
New services: Mr Tony Tyler, Chief Executive Officer, Cathay Pacific Airways, at a press conference, in the Capital on Wednesday. Our Bureau New Delhi, April 16 Cathay Pacific is to launch a four times a week flight to Chennai from Hong Kong in June this year while its 100 per cent subsidiary, Dragonair, will operate a daily service to Bangalore from Hong Kong in May this year, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Tony Tyler, said on Wednesday. More flights“Cathay Pacific has expanded its services and now operates 14 flights a week to Delhi and 10 weekly flights to Mumbai. From June 3, we will launch a four times a week flight service to Chennai,” Mr Tyler said at a press conference. The airline has been able to operate more flights here as the Union Government and Hong Kong signed a new air services agreement allowing designated airlines to operate more services. The agreement also resulted in Jet Airways launching a daily flights between Mumbai and Hong Kong. Asked on the impact of Jet Airways flights to Hong Kong, Mr Tyler said that the start of the service was unlikely to make much difference to Cathay Pacific. “There is a lot of passenger traffic on the routé for all airlines,” the CEO said.
