Seminar on migration to Australia

Our Bureau

Kochi, April 17 AK Migration & Visa Services and Comfort Leisure Pvt Ltd in partnership with TT Services are conducting migration seminars on Australian migration here at Hotel Yuvarani Residency on Saturday.

Mr Atul Kapoor of AK migration & Visa Services, an Australian experienced registered migration agency, will address the seminar. The objective of the seminar is to educate the Indian public on the nuisance, process and opportunity to migrate to Australia.

A press statement issued here said that Australia is currently experiencing a shortage of skilled people and those with trade qualifications such as carpenters, mechanics, fitters, welders plumbers and many more including professional engineers, senior managers, accountants, mining engineers and engineers of most disciplines and a range of medical professions including nurses and doctors and qualified primary and secondary school teachers with good English. There are more than 450 professional and trade skills classifications listed for migration purposes to Australia, he said.

Australia is looking at expanding its migration program for 2008 and 2009. The Australian economy is growing at around 3.5-4 per cent and is being driven by a very large demand for resources.

The expected requirement for skilled people is to be in the order of 1.2-1.5 million over the next 10-20 years, he added.

Recent changes in the Australian migration program, now requires migration applicants to have a minimum level of IELTS English of 6 to be able to migrate. India is a potential source of skilled English speaking migrants due to the level of English language normally spoken.
