Thanjavur, April 22 The Tamil Nadu Sugar Board has taken steps for installing co-generation plant for producing power, using bagasse, at Kurunkulam Anna Government Sugar Mills in Thanjavur district, according to its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Athulya Mishra.

Addressing sugarcane farmers at the Kurunkulam mills premises, he said that Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has been approached for installing the co-generation plant.

Arrears to the farmers will be disbursed by getting loan from banks and Government. Sugarcane harvester will be given to farmers with subsidy, he said.
