Idea Cellular net up 45%

Mumbai, April 24 Aditya Birla group company Idea Cellular has reported a 45-per cent rise in quarterly net profit for March 2008 to Rs 278 crore from Rs 192 crore a year earlier.

Total revenues for the sixth largest telecom operator in the country rose by 50 per cent to Rs 1,985 crore from Rs 1,319 crore in the year-ago quarter.

For the year ended March 2008, the net profit was up by 108 per cent to Rs 1042.3 crore, while net revenues jumped by 54 per cent to Rs 6737.4 crore.
