Mumbai, April 25 Jet Airways, the Indian private sector carrier, has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the company has entered into a framework agreement with Bangalore International Airport Ltd with regard to sub-leasing land at the new Bangalore International Airport to construct a base maintenance and engineering facility. Spokesperson of Bengaluru International Airport told Business Line that the upcoming facility in the new airport would be Jet Airways’ main aircraft maintenance facility in the country. The airline would be using it for both wide-body and narrow body aircraft maintenance. BIAL expects the facility to be operational in 2010 and for the time being Jet will be using this base for its own aircraft. The airline company was looking at setting up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul unit in India for a long time and there were talks that they could come up with one in the southern region. Jet Airways officials were unavailable for comment. More Stories on : Airlines | Jet Airways (India) Ltd
