Foundation for Madurai airport terminal today

New Delhi, April 25 The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr M. Karunandhi, along with the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr Praful Patel, will lay the foundation stone for a new integrated terminal building at Madurai airport on Saturday.

An official statement here states that the new terminal complex when completed will be able to handle 500 passengers at a time, up from the current capacity of 200 passengers.

The cost of the project is estimated at about Rs 128.76 crore and is expected to be completed by March next year. The project will also see the existing apron at the Madurai airport being extended so that larger aircraft will also be able to land, the statement adds.
