ABB India Q1 profit up 36%

Rise in revenue volumes and operational efficiencies lifted power equipment maker ABB India’s profits 36 per cent to Rs 117.70 crore during the first quarter of 2008.

A press statement from the company said revenues increased 17 per cent to Rs 1,553.80 crore. Orders rose 35 per cent to Rs 2,695.40 crore as more orders came from power utilities and core industry sectors.

The company has upgraded its production and testing facilities to manufacture 765 kV power transformers locally.
