India, Bahrain finalise draft MoU for workers

Our Bureau

New Delhi, April 26 India and Bahrain on Saturday finalised a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Labour Mobility and Manpower Development between the two countries. The proposed MoU will provide an institutional framework for strengthening bilateral co-operation in the deployment of Indian workers in Bahrain and covers a wide range of activities to make labour mobility simple transparent and efficient.

The MoU will facilitate manpower recruitment and mutual sharing of information and experience, apart from ensuring that recruitment is done in conformity of the laws of both India and Bahrain. The MoU was firmed up after two days of negotiations between an Indian delegation led by the Union Minister for Overseas Indians and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Vayalar Ravi, and the Bahrain delegation led by the Minister of Labour, Dr Majeed Bin Al Alawi.
