Lintas chief Prem Mehta retires

New Delhi, April 26 The Chairman and Managing Director of Lintas, India, Mr Prem Mehta has retired .

In a release from the company, the agency’s worldwide CEO, Mr Steve Gatfield, said, “We are pleased to recognise Prem’s valuable role in steering the Indian company to its current stature, both in India and internationally. The Board of Lintas, Lowe Worldwide and the InterPublic Group (IPG) wish Prem the very best as he leaves the organisation that he has been a part of for 28 years.”

Mr Gatfield has assumed Chairmanship of the Lintas India Board.

Mr Mehta, who had informed the board of his decision to retire early in January, said that the next three to five years would see rapid changes redefining advertising in the Indian Market, with new media driving the change.

“This kind of change needs to be managed by new generation managers with the right perspective. I am confident that the team IPG has put in place will lead the Indian operation to new highs,” said Mr Mehta.

In a four-decade long career, Mr Mehta played a key role at the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and was committed to the role of building brands with memorable campaigns for Liril, Cherry Blossom, Lifebuoy, VIP and Britannia, and recent ones for Greenply, Maruti, LG, Bajaj and ICICI.
