Call to focus on global warming

Hyderabad, April 27

The scientists should find solutions for the challenges put forth by global warming, according to Mr B. L. Deekshatulu, former Director, National Remote Sensing Agency. Participating as a chief guest at the Scientists Awards 2008 programme, organised by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Technology (APCOST) here on Saturday, Mr Deekshatulu said issues pertaining to global warming were more pertinent now as 2008 was being observed as `International Year of Planet Earth' by the United Nations. Dr Ch. Venkataramana Devi, Member-Secretary, APCOST, called for greater participation from the scientific community to place Andhra Pradesh in the forefront of development. - Our Bureau
