New Products & Services MSD Pharma's new diabetic drug New Delhi, April 29 MSD Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Merck & Co Inc has launched its patented medicine for diabetic care under the brand name `Januvia'. The company said it was aiming four per cent market share in the domestic pharmaceutical segment by 2015. The MSD Pharma Managing Director, Dr Naveen Rao, said it was also planning to launch four more drugs used in therapeutic area of diabetes, dyslipidimia, cervical cancer and diarrhoea. The company is awaiting the approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to launch more products in the country. "We have plans to launch one new medicine in a period of every six months for the next two-three years in the country," Mr Rao said. The drug maker also plans to double its workforce in India from the current 400 to 800 by the end of the current year. - Our Bureau
