Bata India sales grow 20%

Kolkata, April 29

Bata India Ltd posted more than 118 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 11.03 crore in the quarter ended March 31,2008 (Rs 5.05 crore in the first quarter of 2007) according to company sources. The net sales at Rs 218.76 crore (Rs 182.67 crore) showed a growth of nearly 20 per cent. The company posted the profit before tax of Rs 12.77 crore (Rs 5.35 crore) or a growth of 139 per cent, the sources added. –
