Three Boeing biz jets for Rs 961 cr

New Delhi, April 30

The Government has signed a contract with the US-based aircraft manufacturer, Boeing for purchase of three Boeing Business Jets along with self protection suite at a cost of Rs 961 crore, the Defence Minister, Mr A.K. Antony, said on Wednesday. The Boeing aircraft are technically equipped not only to undertake short and medium haul domestic flights, but also international flights up to a range of about 3,000 nautical miles, the Minister said, and added that travel to inter national destinations beyond that range and operational requirements may necessitate refuelling halts or use of Air India aircraft.
