Chennai, May 1 Actor Rani Mukherjee is the new brand ambassador for Henkel India’s neem soap Margo. A press release quoted Mr A. Satish Kumar, Managing Director, Henkel India, as saying, “We are confident of a positive synergy emerging from this new relationship that could help in making the brand appeal to a wider audience.”

Margo commands a market share of close to 4 per cent in urban West Bengal and is a strong player in markets such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, the release said. “As far as the new brand ambassador goes, our pursuit was to associate with someone who embodies a great mix of beauty and an endearing personality and Rani Mukherjee was the unanimous choice,” said Mr Amit Singh, Marketing Manager, Henkel India.

Margo, a heritage brand, has been in existence since the Twenties. Henkel India recently forayed into the liquid hand wash segment with the launch of Margo Original Neem Hand Wash.
