Taxation States - Tamil Nadu Market committee cess problem Madurai, May 1 The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has urged the State Government to find a solution to the problem of levy of` `Market Committee Cess' on agricultural goods. In a statement, Mr P. Subash Chandra Bose, while welcoming the recent announcement of tax exemptions and complete waiver from payment of sales tax in respect of accounts in the commercial taxes department between the period 1951-52 and 1991-92 etc., has thanked the Minister for Commercial Taxes for taking the initiative to find a solution to the problem of levy of `Market committee cess' on agricultural goods and urged that an early solution to the problem is necessary. - Our Correspondent More Stories on : Taxation | Foodgrains | Tamil Nadu
