New Delhi, May 2

Jamna Auto Industries has registered a net profit of Rs 9.4 crore for the fourth quarter ended 2008 compared with a Rs 7.6-crore loss in the same quarter of the previous year. The company’s net sales increased to Rs 161.5 crore (Rs 86.5 crore).

For the entire fiscal, the net profit grew to Rs 19.9 crore (Rs 1.6 crore). Its net sales were up at Rs 471.2 crore (Rs 279.4 crore).

“While sales increased due to merged capacities of Jai Parabolic Springs and MAP Springs, the high profits are due to higher capacity utilisation, cost cutting measures and shift from conventional springs to high-margin parabolic springs,” said Mr Shakti Goyal, CFO, Jamna Auto.
