Rubber Domestic rubber futures turn weak Arvindan Kottayam, May 2 The domestic rubber futures turned weak except for its May contract which closed marginally higher at Rs 116.35 (Rs 116.11) a kg on NMCE. The June futures slipped to Rs 113.51 (Rs 113.99), July to Rs 110.29 (Rs 110.37) and August futures to Rs 107.64 (Rs 107.99) a kg for RSS 4. The open interest stood at 4,210 (4,101) tonnes. The volumes totalled 1,129 (1,705) lots trading 407 (776 ) lots in May, 570 (719) lots in June, 135 (148) in July and 17 (62) lots in August. The outstanding positions were 1,870 (1,874) tonnes in May, 1,428 (1,333) tonnes in June, 661 (647) tonnes in July and 251(247) tonnes in August. In the international scene, RSS 3 improved at its June futures to ¥300 (Rs 117.66) from ¥297.1 a kg at TOCOM. The grade’s spot slipped by 32 paise to Rs 115.67 (Rs 115.99) a kg at Bangkok.
