Covering groups boost spot rubber

Kottayam, May 5 Physical rubber prices turned better on Monday. Covering groups have been moderately active in the main marketing centres though the trendsetting Japanese markets remained closed on Children’s Day. RSS 4 concluded at Rs 117 against Rs 116 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi. According to sources, the market improved mainly on speculation rather than actual consumer buying and the volumes continued to be low as selling dried up expecting the bull phase to continue.
