Coimbatore, May 6

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has informed that a section of officers of the Corporation have gone on strike effective 6 a.m. on May 6. The management is having discussions with them to resolve issues that have been raised but essential operations are being maintained.

KCP Ltd has informed that the High Court of Judicature at Madras has directed that a meeting of the equity shareholders of the company be held on May 30 for the purpose of considering and if thought fit approving with or without modification the Scheme of Amalgamation proposed to be made between KCP Biotech Ltd and The KCP Ltd.

Visaka Industries Ltd has informed that it has commenced commercial production in its reinforced building boards division in Miryalguda, Andhra Pradesh, with effect from May 1 for which the company had raised funds through qualified institutional placement in January 2007.
