New Products & Services Galla Foods launches mango drink Hyderabad, May 6 Eyeing the Rs 1,500-crore packaged fruit beverage market, Galla Foods Pvt Ltd, an Amara Raja group company, has launched a mango beverage. Galla Thick Mango nectar will be available in bottles of 200 ml and 400 ml in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the next few weeks. Addressing a press conference after launching the product, Mr Ramachandra N. Galla, Chairman, said the company has set up a beverage facility with a capacity of 7.3 lakh litres a month. “We are planning to make it available across the country by 2009. We are looking at a presence in 150 cities,” he said. Galla Foods, which recorded a sales turnover of Rs 18 crore in 2006-07, closed 2007-08 at Rs 40.50 crore. “There is a declining trend in the consumption of cola beverages in India. This has created growth opportunities for fresh fruit juice,” Mr Satish Rajagopalan, Head (Sales and Marketing) said.
