Knitwear & Hosiery States - Tamil Nadu Exporters’ body seeks Collector for Tirupur Our Bureau Coimbatore, May 8 Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) has urged the Tamil Nadu Government to initiate action towards building infrastructure for the new Tirupur district by announcing the appointment of district collector. It also urged necessary action so that Tirupur district started functioning officially. The TEA in a representation to the Chief Minister had recalled the earnestness with which the latter had allowed both the upgradation of Tirupur as a municipal corporation and formation of Tirupur district with the knitwear town as the headquarters for the new district early this year. In order to ensure a crime-free environment in Tirupur business centre, a commissioner of police for Tirupur Corporation must be posted, the representation added.
