Telecommunications States - Andhra Pradesh Tata Teleservices to invest Rs 140 cr in AP for expansion Our Bureau Hyderabad, May 9 Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) has sewn up ambitious expansion plan for its network in Andhra Pradesh wherein it is poised to invest Rs 140 crore during the year and add about 169 towns by September 2008. This is more than one town a day and would add significantly to the presence of over 411 towns in the State, wherein the company has thus far invested over Rs 3,000 crore over the years, according to Mr S. Ramakrishna, Chief Operating Officer for Andhra Pradesh, Tata Teleservices Ltd. subscriber base“The company subscriber base has grown to about 25.47 lakh and there is demand in cities and towns where we are already present and also in parts we are in the process of strengthening in the network. This is being complimented by six major corridors,” he said. Addressing a press conference here on Friday Mr Ramakrishna said that the company’s enterprise business too is growing at a robust pace and some of the important deployments such as the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with huge traffic volumes, serve as flagship engagements. “We constantly innovate to offer services that suit the individual and business requirements. One such innovative offering is being formally launched is a new Walky Talky which comes packed with host of features and is priced at Rs 1,299 with activation kit,” he explained. This is targeted as individuals and small businesses who will find this very handy to take it around within office or business premises, he said.
