DCM Shriram buys 81% in fert co

New Delhi, May 9

DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd has taken over majority ownership and management control of the Rajasthan-based Shri Ganpati Fertilizers Ltd, Jaipur (SGFL). The company acquired 81.41 per cent of the shares for around Rs 8 crore. SGFL will now become a subsidiary of DSCL.

SGFL is engaged in the manufacture of single super phosphate (SSP) with a manufacturing unit in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan. It has a manufacturing capacity of SSP powder of 1,98,000 tonnes a year and SSP granules of 60,000 tonnes a year. Earlier, DSCL had an exclusive marketing tie-up with SGFL for SSP.

The acquisition will help DSCL to strengthen its presence in the phosphatic fertiliser segment and meet the growing requirement for SSP in the Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh region. - Our Bureau
