U21Global to offer derivative, custom learning courses

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, May 9 Online management education provider U21Global is set to expand its derivatives education and customised executive learning programmes.

It is in dialogue with several Indian and global varsities to compliment their management education. The Dean of Business Management, Universitas 21 Global, Dr Helen Lange, said that they have partnered with IIM-Bangalore and Delhi University in India for different courses and are looking for similar partnerships.

Dr Lange was in Hyderabad recently to give certificates to Satyam associates who have undergone training at the U21Global. About 150 of them were awarded certificates and Satyam was among the first corporate entity in India to sign up with U21Global and has mandated them to impart management education to about 3,000 potential leaders.

The varsity works with some of the largest corporate houses in India including Wipro, Murugappa group, The Aditya Birla group, and lately has individuals taking up the executive learning courses. The demand is such that about 50 per cent of those joining are individuals, she explained.

U21Global is set to shortly announce scholarships for emerging women leaders in partnership with Master Card. This is aimed at covering about 20 women from the South East Asia in Master of Science and Travel and Tourism.

“Most of the people we work with are either good at one stream or another but do not have management education or find it difficult to break away from their busy work schedules to undergo management education. These people have the flexibility to gradually ramp up with custom learning through derivative courses,” she explained.

Management learning has also become an important part of retention strategy. Therefore, what started with technology sector companies such as Satyam and Wipro is now encompassing other sectors such as financial services and manufacturing, Mr Srikanth Sinha, Director, South India, said.
