Letters Controlling price rise Among the initiatives taken by the government to control price rise, no step has been taken to reduce perks, innumerable phone and electricity bills, and unnecessary domestic and foreign trips of the politicians under guise of servicing the people. All these expenses should be reduced to half. It appears that the situation is similar to a runaway inflation — inflation breeding further inflation. Some attribute it to forward trading in the commodity market. There is a direct correlation between spread of cell phones and soaring inflation.V. S. Venkatavaradan Salem
