Fertilisers RCF net rises 54% on higher sales Our Bureau Mumbai, May 12 Riding higher sales growth fertiliser major, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd has notched 54 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 51.3 crore for the quarter ending March 31 compared with Rs 33.3 crore in the year ago quarter. The net sales for quarter increased by 46 per cent to Rs 1,329.5 crore (Rs 912.7 crore). For the fiscal 2007-08, the company reported 6 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 158.1 crore for the year ended March 31 compared with Rs 148.7 crore achieved last year. Net sales for the year have increased by 47 per cent to Rs 5,140.2 crore (Rs 3,487.9 crore). According to Mr M. Sundarraman, Director (Finance) RCF the company for the first time has achieved sales of over $1 billion. The company has effectively managed to market the fertilisers produced indigenously as well as imported from overseas market without increasing the manpower cost, he said. At the closing of the trading hours on the BSE the script was traded at Rs 74.40, a net rise of 4.13 per cent from pervious close of Rs 71.45 More Stories on : Fertilisers
