Customs duty revenues up 24.9%

New Delhi, May 14

The Centre’s customs duty revenues have recorded a 24.9 per cent increase in April 2008 to Rs 9,018 crore compared with collections level of Rs 7,221 crore recorded in the corresponding period last year. An official release said that excise revenues for April 2008 stood at Rs 6,410 crore, reflecting a 3.9 per cent decline to the excise duty revenues of Rs 6,673 crore collected in the corresponding period last year.
