Agro Tech Foods posts decline in Q4 profit

Agro Tech Foods Ltd (ATFL), an arm of the ConAgra Foods, has posted a total income of Rs 256 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2008, as against Rs 254 crore in the same quarter last financial year.

The company has reported a dip in net profit at Rs 5.5 crore, against Rs 7.5 crore.

The contribution from the branded foods has gone up to Rs 176.40 crore (Rs 149.80 crore), while the sourcing and institutional business saw a dip with a contribution of Rs 78.90 crore (Rs 103 crore).

For the financial year ended March 31, 2008, it reported a total income of Rs 1,013 crore as against Rs 1,041 crore the previous year.

Of this, branded foods contributed Rs 649 crore (Rs 542.60 crore), showing a growth of 20 per cent.
