New Products & Services States - Other States MMTC opens 2 silverware outlets in Delhi Our Bureau Delhi, May 15 MMTC has opened two Sanchi franchisee showrooms in New Delhi on Thursday. The showrooms, one at East Punjabi Bagh and another at the heart of the city in Connaught Place, would showcase MMTC’s popular silverware brand — Sanchi — offering purity at 92.5 per cent. The Sanchi range has over 400 items including tableware, decorative pieces and items of religious significance. MMTC has tied up with National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, to create new designs to meet the needs of the market, the company’s Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sanjiv Batra, said. Bullion operationsMr Batra said MMTC is also expanding its bullion operations and planning to enter the retail jewellery market by tying up with a leading jewellery retail chain in India. It is also in the process of setting up a world class medallion unit and refinery for bullion with a leading international company near Sohna in Haryana. The unit is expected to be operational in the later part of 2009. MMTC is one of the agencies nominated by the Government of India for importing gold, silver and platinum for supply to exporters and domestic customers under outright sale, loan and replenishment schemes.
