ISO for SKS Microfinance

Hyderabad, May 16

SKS Microfinance has become the first microfinance institution in the world to get an ISO certification for its 200-plus strong ‘Internal Audit Department’. The ISO 9001:2000 certification has been awarded by leading certifying body RINA. The validity of this certificate will be till May 2011, according to a press release. Mr M.R. Rao, Chief Operating Officer, SKS Microfinance, said, “SKS conducts rigorous audits every month across its 800 plus offices ac ross the country. An ISO certification is a distinction that reinforces our commitment to deliver transparency and accountability.” —
