People Centre appoints EDs in 3 banks K.R. Srivats New Delhi, May 16 The Centre has appointed executive directors in three public sector banks — Oriental Bank of Commerce, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) and Andhra Bank. All the three appointments are elevations from the General Manager rank, sources said. While Mr Ratnakar Hegde, who was the General Manager at Vijaya Bank has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Oriental Bank, Mr Y.L. Madan, who was General Manager at Canara Bank, has been appointed as an Executive Director at IOB. Mr Anil Gehrotra, who was General Manager at Canara Bank, has been appointed as an Executive Director at Andhra Bank. Bank of MaharashtraMeanwhile, the Centre is yet to appoint a Chairman for the Bank of Maharashtra after Mr M.D. Mallya, who was Chairman, moved over to Bank of Baroda as its Chairman. Informed sources said that the process of appointment of a new chairman to the Bank of Maharashtra has been slowed down in the wake of “flimsy complaints” made to scuttle the entire process.
