The Hindu Business Line : Technopreneur workshop today

Kochi, May 16Technopark is organising a one-day workshop on ‘Promoting Business & Technology Incubation and Building Enterprises’ here on Saturday at Hotel Avenue Centre.

Technopark TBI, Technopark TePP Outreach Centre (TUC), TiE Kerala, STED, Infopark, NCIIE and CUSAT are jointly organising the programme.

The workshop is a follow up programme of Technopreneur 2008, a workshop series launched on the eve of ISBA2008 Conference, which was successfully conducted by Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram.

The target audience includes prospective innovators, faculty members of engineering colleges in Central Kerala comprising of the districts Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur. The event is aimed at emphasising the need to support genuine entrepreneurs and innovators from rural Kerala to transform their ideas into marketable products.

Inauguration

The workshop will be inaugurated by Dr A. S. Rao, Advisor, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) and will include sessions on promoting business and technology incubation, building enterprises through business incubators, entrepreneurship development in rural areas and DSIR TePP funding.

Mr H. K. Mittal, Advisor, DST, will deliver the keynote address and Mr Sujit Banerjee, Director, DST, will attend the programme and take sessions on the Incubation Initiatives of DST and Infodev respectively.
