S Kumar’s Q4 net up 65%

Mumbai, May 19

Textile manufacturer S Kumars Nationwide Ltd posted a rise of 91 per cent in its net profit for the year ended March 31, 2008 at Rs 205.5 crore (Rs 107.4 crore). The net sales of the company increased by 42 per cent for the same period at Rs 1,748.6 crore (Rs 1,229.5 crore). The total income of the textile company rose by 41.9 per cent at Rs 1,759 crore (Rs 1,239.4 crore). “The company would maintain its growth momentum through continued thrust on its existing busine sses. Our concentration in the domestic market has permitted us to expand market share and more importantly protect margins,” said Mr Nitin S. Kasliwal, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman. The company did not release its fourth quarter results on the BSE but according to a company release, the net profit for the fourth quarter rose by 65 per cent at Rs 62.5 crore (Rs 37.8 crore, including extraordinary profit of Rs 16 crore). The net sales for the period rose by 41 per cent at Rs 525.6 crore (Rs 371.6 crore).
