Our Bureau

New Delhi, May 20 Paint manufacturer ICI Ltd today announced a dividend of Rs 8 per share for 2007-08 (against Rs 27 last year including a one-off special dividend of Rs 20 per share), according to a company release.

For the January-March 2008 quarter, the company has recorded total sales of Rs 220 crore and an operating profit of Rs 15.8 crore, higher by nine per cent and five per cent, respectively, during the quarter compared with the corresponding figures in the same quarter last year.

For full fiscal 2007-08, total sales and operating profits stood at Rs 942 crore and Rs 93 crore, respectively, up 19 per cent and 26 per cent compared to the previous year figures.

The company’s net profit for 2007-08 stood at Rs 60 crore as against Rs 448 crore in 2006-07. This is because last year the company had received Rs 446 crore from divestment of some businesses. This year’s profits are from company’s business activities only, the release said.
