Global document management company Xerox on Tuesday said it plans to increase the number of channel partners in India, and would spend close to Rs 20 crore on marketing and promotion of its product range this year.

The company announced the global launch of eight mono printers and multi-function printer (MFPs) in India, ahead of the rest of the world. The products would be subsequently rolled out in 162 countries.

“We will add another 150 channel partners targeting primarily the IT channel space. The company will also invest Rs 20 crore in 2008 on marketing and geographic expansion with a focus on small and medium businesses,” Mr Princy Bhatnagar, Director, Office Business Group, Xerox India, said. The company had spent Rs 15 crore on marketing and promotion last year.

“We plan to reach out to tier-II and tier-III markets to accelerate the market penetration in the SMB space. We will be rolling out multi-city roadshows across top 15 non-metro cities to showcase newly launched products to our channel partners and customers across India,” Mr Bhatnagar said.
