UST Global opens centre in Chennai

Our Bureau

Chennai, May 20 UST Global, the US-based IT services company with offshore development centres in India, has opened its new centre in Chennai. The company spent $12 million (around Rs 50 crore) on the 43,500 sq ft facility.

The centre now accommodates around 900 employees and will increase it by 1,500 in the ‘near future,’ Mr Arun Narayanan, Chief Operating Officer, US Technology International Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of UST Global, told newspersons.

The new centre will be a key location from which the company will provide its Global 2000 clients with the IT domain expertise in sectors such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing and media and entertainment, he said.

The company offers IT services to US-managed health care, healthcare providers and the life science sector — from eligibility, membership and claims systems to healthcare informatics and medical risk management systems. It plans to offer BPO services for US health care sector clients.

Out of 5,500 employees globally, the company employs 4,000 in India (Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Kochi) and the rest in the US, he said.
