Our Bureau Hyderabad, May 21 Telecom services provider Airtel today announced it has added services in 600 new locations across Andhra Pradesh in the last three months, thereby extending its reach to far flung areas in the State. Airtel now commands a subscriber base of 6.5 million customers in the State as per Cellular Operators Association of India numbers (as of March 2008). With this network expansion, Airtel claims it covers about 80 per cent of the urban and rural population in the State. The Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. T Elango, in a statement said “our customers are today based in the remote corners of Andhra Pradesh and roll out in new towns and villages is reflection of resolve to reach remote areas. This also provides freedom of experiencing complete mobility in the entire State. “This expansion into new towns and villages would result full connectivity on the country’s one of the largest GSM networks.
