Our Bureau Mumbai, May 21 The expansion work at Infosys’ campus in Pune is running six months behind schedule, partly due to the political milieu in Maharashtra, according to Mr TV Mohandas Pai, member of the Infosys board. Infosys had about 2,800 labourers working on the campus; this has now come down to 1,300 labourers due to the political scenario in the state, Mr Pai said. Currently, Infosys has more than 14,000 people in Pune. When the capacity expansion plan is through, the Pune campus will be Infosys’ largest manpower base; it will have a seating capacity for 24,000 plus employees. This has resulted in violence against North Indian migrants, forcing many skilled and unskilled workers to leave cities such as Pune, Mumbai and Nashik.
