Software Logistics - Railways Kernex Micro rail tracking tool Hyderabad, May 21 IT solutions provider and developer of railway safety systems, Kernex Microsystems (India) Ltd., has developed an Online Passenger Information System for deployment in Railways. This geographical positioning system (GPS)-based system serves as a real time tracking and monitoring system and enables the Railway authorities and passengers to know the location of a particular train and the likely time of arrival at a particular s tation. According to a statement from Kernex, the technology has been test demonstrated to the Railways authorities in the Secunderabad division and is set to be deployed in the Multi-Modal Transport System . The train location is continuously logged and relayed through a Railtel Fibre Optic Cable network and the data processed though a central server enabling a voice conversion which is then announced though a public address system. This has multiple usages including display systems in the rail compartments to help passengers know the location of the train. – Our Bureau More Stories on : Software | Railways
