Brands Jarden Consumer Solutions enters India Our Bureau Mumbai, May 23 Consumer durable products of the New York-based Jarden Consumer Solutions will be available in Indian multi-brand retail outlets from this year, said Mr Daniel Zarate, Managing Director-Acting, JCS India. Bionaire in air management and Oster in kitchen appliances are the two brands the company is bringing to India initially, from its portfolio of Sunbeam, Patton, Rival, Holmes and Villaware. The home solutions products will be sold at Croma, Vijay Sales, Reliance Digital, E-Zone and Hypercity among other Indian retailers and also in the international chains such as Wal-Mart and Carrefour, as and when they enter India, said Mr Zarate. The company will focus on growth in metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Bangalore. The company will import the products from its manufacturing sites and vendors in China, Mexico and Venezuela. But going forward, the company is looking at options to source from vendors within the country. India is the first Asian market for Jarden, despite the company having a huge manufacturing facility in China of over a million sq. ft. “We studied the Indian market for two years and find it a more lucrative market than China. We are developing innovative air purifiers, heaters and fans that we have specifically designed for the Indian market, and will continue to do so,” said Mr Zarate.
