Crompton Greaves Q4 net up 47%

Mumbai, May 23 Electrical equipment maker Crompton Greaves said its fourth quarter net profit rose 47 per cent.

Net profit amounted to Rs 103 crore (Rs 70 crore) for the quarter ended March 2008. The total income grew to Rs 1,184 crore, from Rs 1,003 crore.

For the financial year 2007-08, the net profit of the company rose 64 per cent to Rs 314 crore from Rs 192 crore in the previous year. Total income increased to Rs 3,945 crore (Rs 3,402 crore). The consolidated fourth quarter net profit stood at Rs 143 crore, while its consolidated revenues amounted to Rs 2029 crore.

The group’s annual consolidated net profit amounted to Rs 406 against Rs 282 crore the previous year. Total income amounted to Rs 6,900 crore, against Rs 5,744 crore. The current year figures include the results of the subsidiaries acquired during the year and are not comparable with the figures of the previous year, said a release from the company. Crompton Greave’s share price remained flat at Rs 232 on Friday.
