BPCL's Manmad unit sealed

Mumbai, May 23

Aunit of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd at Manmad, near Nashik, was sealed on Friday by the Manmad Municipal Corporation for non-payment of Rs 23 crore as export fee. BPCL has storage tanks at Panewadi village, on the outskirts of Manmad town. The company supplies petroleum products from this facility to north and western India. A senior BPCL official confirmed that about a week ago reconciliation talks were held with the local municipal authorities. The company has approached the Bombay High Court, seeking immediate relief. The hearing will be on Saturday. - Our Bureau
